About Becky Sisneros
Becky Sisneros is a Licensed Associate Counselor, receiving her Master’s of Arts in Counseling from Phoenix Seminary. She chose Phoenix Seminary because of its integration of Christian beliefs, first and foremost, combined with psychology. Phoenix Seminary and Ezer Christian Counseling (ECC) hold true to the Biblical understanding that men and women are all created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27). Becky is most drawn to support and equip those who have experienced relational and sexual disintegration due to abuse, find restoration – as they learn over time to embrace a personal sense of value and wholeness.
Ezer, a word frequently translated as 'helper' in the Bible, particularly in Genesis 2:18, carries a deeper meaning. While helpers are vital to the body of Christ, ezer also conveys strength, often referring to a 'warrior.' In Joshua 1:14, ezer is used to describe allied soldiers who provide support in battle. Becky’s redemptive story of overcoming childhood trauma inspires her to serve as both a helper and an ally in the fight for healing for those in need.
In a safe and confidential environment, Becky offers a secure therapeutic alliance to face past trauma that keeps the client stuck in depression, anxiety, and the effects of abuse. Using a blend of approaches, including EMDR, R-TEP and G-TEP, Internal Family Systems, and listening prayer, she supports clients in resolving relational, emotional, and spiritual problems on the journey to wholeness. Becky is bilingual and can support individuals who speak Spanish.
Becky has her undergraduate degree from ASU in bilingual education and a Master’s in Early Education from NAU. She taught in the public school system for sixteen years, serving low-income minority populations. She held leadership positions that required one-on-one support and guidance. She also provided workshops for Spanish-speaking families. From the time Becky was very young, her grandmother taught her the value and importance of a strong work ethic and how to care for others.
While she became a Christian as a teenager, Becky’s relationship with the Lord deepened considerably in her early thirties while searching for healing from her own past traumas. She places her faith and trust in the One who is well “acquainted with grief” (Isaiah 53:3) and offers to meet you in your journey to wholeness. She has learned what can be accomplished through faith and hope in Jesus.
Becky is working under the direct supervision of Theresa Hay, who is an approved Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Behavioral Health Examiners.
